I was picking in the aisles working at the Coles warehouse in QLD and a rat crawled up my arm. There were hundreds of rats in the warehouse. We told the management so many times that there was a rat problem but they denied it!

It has been a difficult year for all of us enduring the bushfires and the pandemic on top of this Coles has currently locked us out of the work place Coles has not provided a clear path moving forward or provided a fair offer through our EBA that truely reflects our hard work that has helped Coles move into the realm of automation rendering the workforce obsolete…!!!

– Been working at Smeaton Grange as a casual for 7 years. Have never been offered a permanent position – we were expected to work long hours during the Covid period. The permanent team members were given a cash bonus and although us casuals did mist of the work during that period, we didn’t receive a cent to say thank you for sacrificing your time with your family. It was really disgusting actually. – now […]

17 years of bullying, intimidation & harassment. I feel like I’ve been ruined for any other employment after Coles! When I joined Coles I had a strong work ethic. My previous employment was in industries where if you put in a hard days work you were rewarded & recognised. I tried to continue on this angle at Coles but eventually realised I was wasting my time. The repetitive nature of the work started wearing my […]

As a casual agency team member for 10 years , Coles has been nothing but dirty, During the covid period we worked 50 hour + weeks and as usual coles didnt offer the casual team members a bonus or anything, forgotten as usual for all the hard work they do , The amount of Christmases that have gone by not even a thanks we get for the hard work, and now locking everyone for 3 […]

I have worked for Coles for 26 years and I will be replaced by an automated warehouse in 2023. By that time I will have worked 30 years with Coles. All I want is the correct redundancy payment that I am legally entitled to for the number of years I have served. And I strongly support all my fellow team members in receiving their legal entitlements.

As a team leader, I get continually pushed and lumped with extra tasks without the appropriate hours to work with. Time and time again I’m told about how the department is doing ‘poorly’ with REM. Strange how Coles can announce that they’ve recorded insane profits but still my job is not made any easier.

I have been bullied and harassed by coles management for unsustainable pick rates. They won’t allocate a time for your task but will still give you a percentage for the end of your task once it’s complete. They will then counsel you for not meeting the companies expectations but yet won’t supply the data so you know how to attain there so called expection of 100%. This hiding of allocated time to task is so […]

In recent years Coles has been increasingly showing such utter disregard for the safety and well-being of employees that it borderlines on contempt for the workforce. They push us to make forklift rates that are impossible to achieve when following all SOP’s and then when somebody has a minor incident because they are pressured to rush such as dropping a box they face disciplinary action. Despite working ten hour shifts we are harassed over minor […]

I do not like industry action , but with this one , we must do it , no other choices , because Coles ‘ s management kept ignoring worker ‘ s rights . Regarding new EBA and Redundancy Package , we are in UWU had already 8 meetings , but still in limbo , Coles ‘ s management kept lyings and ignored us as the worker by saying publicly how good they , but in […]

I’ve worked at Coles for 20 years and I find it absolutely heartless and unbelievable that cashed up Coles thinks it’s a good idea to lock the distribution warehouse at Smeaton Grange for 3 months over Christmas and leave me and my fellow works with NO PAY !!! This is the christmas present we get from coles for all these years of service to your company , we all deserve a better deal and for […]

Flashback to October 2018, I was just about to start my two weeks of annual leave, for two nights I was going to stay at Jamala Wildlife Lodge at Canberra Zoo for 2 nights. The day before, Coles proudly announced that we were all to be made redundant in 5 years time. At this stage I was only two years into my mortgage, so I immediately felt sick to my stomach. The price of staying […]

Sustained a back injury. Went to there doctor was told was a minor strain. Worked with it for some time. Some time months on,another injury management officer asked if it was “better now.” To which I replied that it was still bothering me a bit. Then I was sent for a second opinion and got a scan showing I needed either an operation or much physio. Another injury management specialist of Coles tried to shirk […]

They are not paying us the right entitlement over this redundancy and they are making life so hard for us employees with gap times and will have any excuse to cull us before they will give us redundancy
